Temple Coffee in Davis

Today, one of Sacramento’s favorites, Temple Coffee, will open its fourth location in nearby Davis—and City Scout hosted a preview party to celebrate!

City Scout was there for a sneak peek of the beautiful new space—with its wall-to-wall windows and a 32-foot-long, solid Black Walnut coffee bar—and to welcome them to their new neighborhood.

Temple is already known for its fine (award-winning) craft coffee roasts and the sustainable relationships they’ve built with their growers—they source 90% of their coffee directly. But I spoke to CEO, Sean Kohmescher, about what sets this location apart for those of us who like to really geek out when it comes to our coffee: Pour-overs are automated at the counter from a Modbar system for a truly consistent result. Nitro-cold-brew coffee and Cascara tea (made from coffee “cherries”) is on tap behind the bar. And those who get there early can try one of the 35-cups of cold brew batched daily from the gorgeous Kyoto-drip system—one of the few of its kind. “We make 12,000 mL, one batch each day, and when we sell out, we sell out.”

All of this all-you-can-drink coffee made for an especially buzzy evening at Temple, while guests at the preview also enjoyed live music, photo fun provided by Giggle and Riot, bites by The Roaming Spoon, and wine from 58 DegreesSee you in Davis!
